Mary K. Greer's Tarot Blog

GreerblogWhoo hoo! One of the mothers of Modern Tarot finally has a blog! Mary K. Greer's Tarot Blog launched in October, but updates appear to have begun in earnest this month.

In addition to articles on elemental dignities and Golden Dawn correspondences, you'll find a bio, a calendar of events, and a great list of anything and everything Mary's ever written. Given Mary's reputation for making the esoteric approachable, this will be a site to watch for sure!

As The Spirit Moves Me

Just dropping in for a moment to invite you to visit my new blog--As the Spirit Moves Me--on my main Web site.  For now, I have posted some of the pieces I contributed here at The Tarot Channel.  So they will be familiar to TTC's regular readers.  In the future, I'll be posting original content on Tarot and pretty much whatever the Spirit moves me to write!

Tarot of the Elves: Official Website

Toe-WebsiteWhen someone creates something really new and exciting, it's up to the creator to help other people appreciate why that something is, well, really new and exciting!

I'm proud to announce, then, the launch of the official website of the Tarot of the Elves, over at www.TarotOfTheElves.com. There, you'll find great background info on the deck, sample chapters from the companion novel, and a blog dedicated to news, reviews, and readings associated with the Tarot of the Elves.

This deck is unique and distinctive in so many ways ... and some of its best features are simply not apparent from online scans and first impressions. So: come in! Grab a pint of willowbeer, scarf down a slice of splitroot cake, and make yourself at home. And, as always, please feel free to drop me a line and let me know what you think about TarotOfTheElves.com.

Along the Tarot Path - The Tarot School's New Blog

Path_pic_smallMany of you are no doubt familiar with Wald and Ruth Ann Amberstone--directors of The Tarot School, hosts of the annual Readers Studio and authors of the book Tarot Tips.

The Amberstone's are taking their knowledge and warmth to the blog world with their new blog Along the Tarot Path. Ruth Ann and Wald had this to say in their announcement:

Welcome to The Tarot School blog –– join us on our excellent adventure!

As you walk along with the two of us, you’ll notice our voices are very different. In no time at all, you’ll know if Ruth Ann or Wald is the one speaking. But occasionally, we’ll surprise you by talking in unison.

As our paths converge, we invite you to add your comments and join the conversation!

Harry Potter, Deathly Hallows, Alchemy and The Tarot

Deathly_hallows_smallIf you're a Harry Potter fan like myself, you're greatly anticipating the seventh--and last--book of the series: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Is there a Hanged Man connection with the latest book? Hallows rhymes with gallows, after all--but there may be deeper connections with the Tarot. Of course, J.K. Rowling has been known to include bona fide fortunetelling methods such as Tea-Leaf Reading, Crystal Ball Gazing, Numerology, Runes, and Palmistry in the Harry Potter books.

Is it possible that J.K. Rowling has intricately woven a Tarot thread via Alchemy throughout the entire series? For example, is Draco's "Hand of Glory"--reportedly the dried, pickled left hand of a "hanged man"-- somehow related to the Tarot's Trump 12?

Check out this fascinating post to the Deathly Hallows' book club on the Barnes and Noble site--and share your thoughts about it! I'd be especially interested in your insights on the Tarot connection present in the Potter books--symbols, words, names, themes, storylines, etc.

Oh my gosh, can you fall in love with a deck after seeing only a handful of completed cards?! I hope this one comes to fruition...and soon.
